Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli has become Europe’s top property after clinching second consecutive PFA Young Player of the year award. Many clubs want the services of 21-year-old England international, and rumors are he is Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola’s top target. Former Barcelona player Xavi Hernandez, who is very close to the Guardiola revealed in an interview with The Sun that Pep wants England’s best.
The Sun writes as per Xavi comments, “Technically, he’s the type of player that [Pep] likes, he would add perfectly to his style of play. However, it’s difficult to imagine Tottenham letting him leave, even though City have high resources.”

Xavi added that Pep wants to sign English players. He said, “I speak with Pep, and I know he thinks it is important to sign English players. I’m sure in the summer he will look across Europe for players to improve the squad, but I also expect him to look in the Premier League as well. At the moment, the best English player and also one of the best in Europe is Delle Ali.”
Guardiola’s managerial career at Manchester City hasn’t gone as planned. He will have to settle at the club without winning any silverware during his first year as City manager. He knows he need to make major overhaul to end his woes and Dele Alli is one of the prime candidate for his overhaul alongside Spurs player Kyle Walker and Danny Rose.
However, it’s very unlikely that Alli will be free to go away from White Hart Lane. He is expected to cost around 100 million, which very few can afford. On the other hand, Spurs’ manager Mauricio Pochettino is not ready to make any guarantee that Alli will stay with the club next season.
