Paris Saint-German snatched Juan Bernat on deadline day
Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel talked about the potential transfer on deadline day in his morning press conference. He said as PSG official website reports, “It’s the last day, it’s a bit late. We’ll try to sign two players. Juan Bernat and Eric Maxim Choup-Moting, who are currently undergoing their medicals this morning, but I cannot confirm that they’ll sign, not yet.”
Well, German manager may not have confirmed that in the morning but Parisians are in for Juan Bernat at least. They have signed the 25-year-old Spanish player from Bayern Munich in their last minute snatch.
PSG official website confirms, “We are delighted to announce the transfer of Juan Bernat Velasco. Arriving from FC Bayern Munich, the Spanish defender signed a three-year contract with the capital club, through to 30 June 2021.”
Juan Bernat was full of praise for his new club in his first interview. He said, “I’m very proud to be joining Paris Saint-Germain. After my debut in Spain and my experience in Germany, I’ll discover a new country and, above all, a new club who have made a spectacular rise in recent years. PSG are known throughout Europe, with world-class players, the magnificent Parc des Princes and very big ambitions. I’m also looking forward to working under Thomas Tuchel, whose work in Germany was remarkable. I am truly excited to be taking new step of my career with Paris.
Bernat played 111 games for Bayern Munich during his four year stay and won back to back four Bundesliga titles. His roles were limited from the bench in recent season and he wanted to make a move away from Allianz Arena.
