OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Serri is transfer market darling

OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Serri is transfer market darling this summer. Every top club in Europe is vying for his services. The Ligue 1 prospect is on a high priority list of many clubs. Premier League clubs Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are looking to grab his services, whereas Serie A’s Napoli and Bundesliga’s Borussia Dortmund have also put him on the high priority list.

Michael Serri comes cheap considering latest market hype. Nice midfielder buyout clause only cost £35m which is a bargain price for landing any top talent in this hyped transfer market. He is one of top midfield prospect alongside Napoli’s Jorginho. Jorginho deal is almost finalized with Manchester City, which left Serri to become transfer market darling in the midfield position.

Napoli’s Jorginho is the hottest property in Europe

English newspaper The Sun reports, “The 26-year-old Ivory Coast star is close to making a move to Arsenal, but his move can be halted by Napoli and Borussia Dortmund interests.”

Seri also has offers from Chelsea and Manchester United. He was also Barcelona’s prime target last season.

If reports to be believed, he is no short of options to decide his future. Then it will make a strange decision to make a move to clubs who won’t be offering Champions League football to him next season.

It discards Chelsea and Arsenal options, but the money they can offer to the player may play a role.

Nice star is very likely to go to Borussia Dortmund. At Dortmund, he’ll reunite with his former boss Lucien Fabre under whom he developed as a player. It will also offer him Champions League football. After finishing 8th on the Ligue 1 points table, it’s highly unlikely that Michael Serri will stay with Nice and Lucien Fabre departure will also play a role in it.

Napoli will also present a different experience for him. He will get to learn from one of the world’s best coach in Carlo Ancelotti and besides they’ll also offer him Champions League football. And if things go as planned Napoli may challenge Juventus for Scudetto (Serie A title).

Serri is not out of options. The player only needs to make up his mind. Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Napoli; all are very good options, unless and until Barcelona or Real Madrid come calling. Barcelona may revive their interest considering Andres Iniesta’s departure and Sergio Busquets’ plan to leave the club in near future.
