Liverpool’s weaknesses are almost taken care after Alisson Becker’s arrival
Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp has been busy this summer with prioritizing his signings and handing those names to club officials to make the deal happen. The German manager must be happy this time with his acquisitions this summer, and the latest inclusion of AS Roma’s shot-stopper Alisson Becker has almost taken care of their weaknesses.
Anfield giants have brought in Naby Kieta, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Alisson Becker this summer. Each one comes with their different strength to make already strong Liverpool much stronger. Their only priority signing which has failed to struck a deal is with Olympique Lyonnais’ Nabil Fekir.
Liverpool have no problem in their offensive play. Their front-three trio of Mohamed Salah, Firmino, and Sadio Mane has already proved their mettle. They only needed their back-up in this department which they already have. Their main concern was strengthening their midfield and defense to give more protection when they lose the ball possession.
Fekir’s missing link is their only problem in attacking-half. Naby Kieta and Fabinho inclusion in midfield have made them very competitive in the middle of the pitch. Adam Lallana, Jordon Henderson, and Georginio Wijnaldum will struggle to find place in this new Liverpool playing XI, if midfield trio completes with Nabil Fekir’s late inclusion.
Reds have no problem in their defensive department. Dejan Lovren and Virgil Van Dijk looked promising last season. Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been a revelation for them last season as left-back and right-back respectively. They may be given regular chance in playing XI from 2018/19 season.
Their only problem was the man with gloves. Jurgen Klopp hasn’t shown much faith in Simon Mignolet. Loris Karius’ Champions League final display against Real Madrid was a disaster, and you can’t allow such huge mistakes in those once in a decade opportunity match.
It forced Klopp to switch his tactics and he starts looking for the best in the business. AS Roma’s Alisson Becker availability in the market helped Klopp to pursue him to land at Anfiled. Becker was also very impressed with Liverpool’s journey in Champions League from qualifying to playing to the final. Reds display against his former side AS Roma in Champions League semifinal made him fall in love with the Anfield giants and Brazilian end up landing himself at Anfield.
Liverpool’s weaknesses are almost taken care after Alisson Becker’s arrival. Their biggest concern for starting new season was starting with Loris Karius as their no.1. Jurgen Klopp might have forgiven him for his mistakes in Champions League final describing it as concussion effect after colliding with Sergio Ramos, but Liverpool fans are never going to leave him alone.
Klopp knows that it won’t be easy to start fresh for Karius at Anfield, so he takes the leap forward grabbing the best talent available in the market. We hope Alisson Becker gives his best to Liverpool.
