Chelsea made official the two new arrivals from Napoli – manager Maurizio Sarri and midfielder Jorginho. Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already confirmed the duo’s departure from Napoli and their agreement with Chelsea two days back in a €65 million package, but Chelsea put their stamp on their arrival today.
Blues official website writes, “Maurizio Sarri is the new Chelsea head coach. He moves to Stamford Bridge following a successful three-year spell at Serie A side Napoli. He revitalized Napoli’s fortunes and returned them to Champions League while paying a scintillating brand of expansive, attacking football.”

However, Sarri is delighted to push for titles in London. He told Chelsea official website, “I’m very happy to be coming to Chelsea and the Premier League. It is an exciting new period in my life. I look forward to starting work and meeting the players on Monday ahead of travelling to Australia, where I’ll be able to get to know the squad and begin our match action. I hope we can provide some entertaining football for our fans, and that we will be competing for trophies at the end of the season, which is what this club deserves.”
Chelsea director of football Marina Granovskaia added, “We’re delighted to welcome Maurizio Sarri and looking forward to him bringing his football philosophy to Chelsea. Maurizio’s Napoli side played some of the most exciting football in Europe, impressing with their attacking approach and dynamism, and his coaching methods significantly improved the players at his disposal. He has plenty of experience in Serie A and the Champions League and we know he’s relishing the chance to work in the Premier League.”
It wasn’t only the unveiling of Coach Maurizio Sarri but the new arrival he brings along with him in Jorginho. However, Jorginho has already unveiled his new destination in his farewell to Napoli but it become official today.
Club official statement writes, “Jorginho has followed Maurizio Sarri from Napoli to Chelsea and in doing so becomes our first signing of the summer. he has signed a five-year contract and will the no.5 shirt.”
Jorginho stated, “I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea. It’s not easy to become part of such a big team so I’m very, very happy. I’m excited to play in such an intense league, for a team that gives everything to play and win.”
