AS Roma completes Justin Kluivert transfer from Ajax

You want to call AS Roma a supermarket call it. Roma’s sporting director Monchi has no problem with that as long as he feels Giallorossi needs a major overhaul. Monchi has already acquired the services of Ivan Marcon, Ante Coric, and Bryan Cristante for 2018/19 season onwards, but his summer pursuit doesn’t seem to end there. Roma’s prime target and Ajax wonder kid Justin Kluivert is expected to transfer to Giallorossi in coming days as well.

Calciomercato reports, “AS Roma has reached an agreement with Ajax for Justin Kluivert. The agreement was reached for the transfer price of €15m plus €5m in bonuses, and handing a percentage on a possible future resale.”

AS Roma will become a supermarket again this summer

The report also adds that Patrick Kluivert’s son has already gone through the medical at the Italy capital. Meanwhile, Dutch newspaper Dutch News from Telegraaf has learned that Ajax has turned down the Roma’s offer for Kluivert. Amsterdam club has rejected the offer because they think that their offer price is quite low.

However, considering Monchi’s brilliance in the transfer market and Justin Kluivert’s super-agent Mino Raiola twisted deal anything can be possible. Ajax are not in a position to negotiate knowing that the player’s contract with the club ends next season.

If they couldn’t make the most of the player’s departure this summer, he may walk away free from Ajax next summer. His relationship with the club is also not on good terms and it makes possible that Ajax will have to accept any offer they possibly could get.

If Roma transfer has been already done for Kluivert, it’s difficult to chew the transfer price for such a talented player in this hyped transfer market. We saw Kylian Mbappe was valued €170m and at the same age with equal talent, it seems unfair that Ajax will only get €20m for Kluivert.
