Alexandre Lacazette, the Olympique Lyonnais star revealed his plans for the future on an away trip to Amsterdam. Olympique Lyonnais visited Amsterdam to face Ajax in Europa League semifinal, but Lacazette saw it as an opportunity to inform Champions League clubs about his availability in the summer. The 25-year-old Lyon forward told Uefa official website that he will be joining a club this summer who will be playing in Uefa Champions League.

“This summer I might go for a breath of fresh air and try something different. I’m going to keep working, with the hope that good opportunities come for me this summer. [The team I join] will have to be in the Champions League and play good football – passing the ball, not just hitting it from box to box. Not kick and rush, that would not work for me.”

Alexandre Lacazette opening day hat-trick made him costlier

Lacazette is a product of Lyon’s youth system as he joined the Ligue 1 side in 2003, and promoted to senior side in 2010. He is under contract with Lyon until 2019, but he has been rumored to make a move away from Lyon since last summer. Now, the player himself has made up his mind to make a move next summer. He will no longer be staying in Lyon next season, and the team he’ll choose should be playing in Champions League.

It wasn’t a great time to reveal his plans, but he chooses to do so. He should have kept the priority to talk about the game against Ajax, but he opted for his personal choices and Lyon loses the match 4-1 against Ajax in Europa League semifinal first leg. They’ll have a tough task when they’ll host Ajax next week at home, and Lyon’s management board is not going to like Lacazette behavior before a big game. Borussia Dortmund’s Gabonese star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did the same thing earlier in the season, and he was criticized by the fans and penalized by the club as well.

Lacazette has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool during winter break, but both of them are still fighting for their place in Champions League next season, and with Lacazette demands they might not be able avail the services of 25-year-old French man.
