Serie A most expensive player Gonzalo Higuain doesn’t fit in Juventus plan only after two seasons
Gonzalo Higuain cost Juventus €90 million when they acquired him from Napoli in 2016. The 30-year-old Argentine striker was the most sought-after player with his incredible season with Napoli in 2015/16. He scored record 36 goals in a single Serie A season which brought him to Juventus, but Bianconeri doesn’t see him fit in their plans after only two seasons.
Higuain has failed to live up to the expectation at Juventus. He has only scored 16 goals this season with 35 Serie A appearances. Last season his goal tally also stood at 24. Juventus really didn’t expect average performances from a player on which they spent a fortune.

If reports in Italy is to be believed, Juventus have put him on sale. They are ready to listen to any offer for Pipita in range of €55 to 60 million. Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport claim as Football Italia reports, “Gonzalo Higuain is not a priority for Max Allegri’s project and he’ll be allowed to move on.”
Meanwhile, Juventus have put their focus on Alvaro Morata’s return to Old Lady of Turin. Reports are also circulating that Morata will arrive in a swap deal with Chelsea if Maurizio Sarri becomes Chelsea manager. Sarri had a very good connection with Higuain during his time at Napoli and they can revive their relationship.
Higuain can also be offered to Inter Milan. Nerazzurri captain Mauro Icardi is also linked with Juventus. It is considered that Icardi will cost €110 million. Juventus is ready to offer Inter €50 million plus Higuain.
