Mauro Icardi celebrated Derby della Madonnina’s hattrick in Inter Milan’s 3-2 victory

Milan derby (Derby della Madonnina) is back to its best with Inter Milan’s close 3-2 victory over AC Milan. It was season’s first thriller between the both Milan’s teams at packed San Siro and they delivered as per expectation. It was an even match until Mauro Icardi’s stoppage time penalty earned Internazionale (Inter Milan) 3-2 victory.

It was an intense affair at Stadio Giueseppe Meazza to restore both Milan’s club lost glory. Both clubs backed by rich Chinese owners have tried to restore their club’s lost glory and Milan derby is central part of it.

Icardi opened the scoring for Nerazzurri from Antonio Candreva cross from the right to take the first half lead. It put Inter into an advantageous position before going into the tunnel, but Patrick Cutrone arrival for Rossoneri change the course of action.

Suso earned the leveler for AC Milan with his curling effort in the far bottom corner. Inter needed another masterclass from their captain Mauro Icardi, and Argentinean delivered again with a volley.

It was time for Jack Bonaventura to make his contribution for Rossoneri and it arrived just in time. His slidding effort to put Ricardo Rodriguez’s cross into the net proved to be leveler for AC Milan.

Only stoppage time ruined the game for AC Milan, when Rodriguez hauled down Danilo D’Ambrosio in the penalty area. Icardi kept his cool to earn Inter Milan a scintillating victory at San Siro which was supposed to be their home game. Inter moved at second on points table with 22 points, whereas AC Milan will wait for 4th Mar 2018 to make the score even between the both sides.
