A completely makeover AC Milan forward line proved more dangerous for Sassuolo

AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso had a big challenge facing in-form Sassuolo side without his first choice forward lineup, but a completely makeover AC Milan side proved more dangerous for Sassuolo. Rossoneri defeated Sassuolo 1-4 playing away from home thanks to their much changed forward line.

Gennaro Gattuso was worried that he didn’t have Gonzalo Higuain, Patrick Cutrone, and Fabio Borini available to start in the playing XI due to their injuries. He needed to find a different solution and he goes with his instincts.

AC Milan boss played Samu Castillejo as his false no.9, and Hakan Calhanoglu & Suso finds their place on the wings. Bonaventura, Lucas Biglia, and Franck Kessie started in the midfield to support them and what a game it was for a completely makeover forward line.

Suso already have given relief to his manager hitting the post in five minutes that goals will come. It did came although in a different fashion. Franck Kesie was the first to break the deadlock come running from his own half to shoot from the edge of the area. Kessie did struck the goal but credit must go to Milan’s attacking trio who split the defence for Kessie to find the target.

Then, Suso who was earlier denied by woodworks finds his spot sweetly to end his goal drought. He scored a brilliant left-footed goal from the edge of the box after a neat work to held-off a defender and juggle with the ball to turn and curled it inside the net.

AC Milan were 2-0 up and were looking far from losing the game but Castillejo screamer made sure Milan will walk away with all three points from Sassuolo. He scored a scorching left-footed shot from outside the box as well.

Milan were 3-0 up, but Filip Djuricic made sure that home team has something to cheer at least. He scored to help Sassuolo give some solace but Rossoneri put another one back on the scoreboard to make it 4-1.

Suso scored his brace ricocheting a rebound effort initially failing to score from his free-kick. The ball felled perfectly for him after hitting the wall and his rebound effort takes an assist from Sassuolo player to go into the net.

With today’s performance, Gennaro Gattuso won’t mind if his first choice forward players stay injured. The trio of Calhanoglu, Suso, and Castillejo did a good enough job to earn appreciation from their boss and they might be given another chance in midweek Europa League fixture against Olympiacos.
