Julen Lopetegui snubbed Chelsea stars in Spain’s 23-man squad for Russia 2018

Julen Lopetegui’s Spain will go to the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 as one of the favourite. They are tournament favourite alongside Germany, France, Argentina, and Brazil, but FA Cup winner Chelsea stars’ won’t be part of their national side. Chelsea stars; Alvaro Morata, Cesc Fabregas, Marcos Alonso, and Pedro Rodriguez have been snubbed by Lopetegui in Spain’s final selection for Russia 2018.

Only Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has found his place in Spain’s 23-man squad for World Cup. The 23-man squad is dominated by the Real Madrid players. Club captain Sergio Ramos, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez, Dani Carvajal, Nacho, and Isco have dominated their position in Lopetegui’s final selection.

Barcelona continues to put their place in Spain’s midfield fulcrum with Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta. Left-back Jordi Alba and central-defender Gerard Pique also leave a strong case in their position for La Roja.

Spain’s only problem is not to produce a strong forward who can find their place in Barcelona or Real Madrid’s team sheets. Their forward line comprises of Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas, Valencia’s Rodrigo, and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.
