Tottenham Hotspur has a golden opportunity to cut the gap at top to one point with league leader Chelsea, as they played first in Friday night fixture against West Ham United. But, Hammers gave them a huge blow at London Stadium winning the match 1-0, and it almost ends Spurs pursuit of Premier League this season.
Manuel Lanzini’s 65th minute strike from a loose ball ends Tottenham hope for their first Premier League title. Chelsea have now lesser pressure to win their remaining fixture, as they can seal their fifth Premier League title with victory against Middlesbrough & West Bromwich Albion.

It was already difficult for the Spurs to clinch the title as they were relying on Chelsea’s slip up, but now they will rely even more on their slip up. Now, they need two Chelsea’s defeat out of four remaining fixtures, and meanwhile they have to prove their mettle against Manchester United, Leicester City & Hull City.
The London derby had a dramatic ending earlier in the season at White Hart Lane, when Spurs seals the 3-2 victory in injury time after trailing the match 1-2 for 89 minutes. Hammers took a sweet revenge almost ending their title bid, and were delighted with their home victory against the top six for the very first time this season.
Tottenham Hotspur had their chances in the match, but Harry Kane, Dele Alli & Christian Eriksen failed to make the most of their chances and make harder for themselves to win the league second season in a row. Last season Leicester City outsmart them, and even Arsenal finishes above them. This season once again Chelsea looking to seal the Premier League and there won’t be any surprises if Liverpool finishes above them, if they get devastated by their result against West Ham.
