Ralph Hasenhuttl made his mark in Premier League defeating 22 game unbeaten Arsenal

Ralph Hasenhuttl made his mark in Premier League defeating 22 game unbeaten Arsenal. Southampton’s new boss has already felt the heat of Premier League watching his team lose 3-1 against Tottenham Hotspur from the stands, and then losing 1-0 against Cardiff City in his first match as Saints’ boss. He really needed a bouncing victory to make his mark, and Austrian boss couldn’t have got a better day to make his mark in Premier League.

Unai Emery’s Arsenal were on 22-game unbeaten run in all competition as they visit to St. Mary’s. Hasenhuttl has really a chance to prove his ideas and get enough limelight to put Southampton in centre of attraction in Premier League. He did it with a brilliant 3-2 victory over Gunners.

Hasenhuttl’s team started brilliantly thanks to Danny Ings’ headed effort, but to match each of former Liverpool player’s effort, Arsenal’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan rise on the occasion. Only,it was veteran Charlie Austin who proved to be acknowledging Southampton’s crowd with 85th minute winner.

In his post match comment,Austin said as TheGuardian reports, “A new manager comes in with new ideas, all of the sudden the lads get a bit of a rocket and start expressing themselves and it just didn’t work under Mark Hughes, we just didn’t get the right result. We have got a big Christmas coming up; with Huddersfield and West Ham here. We have to try and take six points from those.”

The real Jewel in 3-2 victory, Danny Ings said, “As a club we know the position we have put ourselves in, but we have shown today that we can really turn it around. We are moving in the right direction.”
