India to renew rivalry with Pakistan on football pitch after 2-0 victory over Maldives
It’s good time to take an excuse from cricket, where India national team is going through a rough phase. If you are a real sport freak, you have plenty of things to enjoy on other pitches. We have already taken pride in various sports this season in ASIAD games, it’s now time to cheer for our national football team. India will be renew their rivalry with Pakistan on football pitch after 2-0 victory over Maldives in SAFF Championship.
India’s head coach Stephen Constantine has already given rest to his star players for the SAFF Championship, but young guns are blazing in absence of key stars. Young Blue Tigers see off Sri Lanka in their opening SAFF fixture thanks to goals from Ashique Kuruniyan and Lallianzuala Chhangte and today they took off better care of Maldives with a different looked playing XI.

Constantine making the full use of young squad and trying the potential as future star gave chance to Nikhil Poojary and Manvir Singh resting Kuruniyan and Sumeet Passi. Poojary and Singh both shined scoring their maiden goals for the country.
Farukh Choudhary could have done better utilizing his second opportunity in the lineup but centre-forward once again wasted it. but, he must be ready for big game. Any game between India and Pakistan is a big game and when we don’t have our traditional game cricket to beat them diplomatically, we must rejoice a football game.
India will play Pakistan on September 12 in SAFF Championship semi-final at Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Stadium. India last met Pakistan in September 2013 and during the same tournament. At that time, Blue Tigers roared with 1-0 victory, we expect them to register a bigger goal margin victory to entertain their fans.
