Paris Saint-Germain was looking invincible this season before they suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against Strasbourg on Saturday. Strasbourg enjoyed their victorious night over the Ligue 1 leaders to end their unbeaten run in all competition.

PSG unbeaten run ends at Stade de la Meinua on Saturday. Nuno Da Costa handed Strasbourg an early lead over the Ligue 1 giants in 13th minute and Parisians find it difficult to continue their hammering over Ligue 1 teams.

Kylian Mbappe scored an equalizer in 42nd minute of first-half, but Stephen Bahoken ended PSG’s 22 game unbeaten run with his 65th minute strike. The promoted Ligue 1 side enjoyed their euphoric moment to become the first side to end PSG’s unbeaten run at Stade de la Meinua.

PSG star studded side failed to impress against the newly promoted Strasbourg. Unai Emery gave rest to his leading goal scorer Edinson Cavani eyeing midweek game against Bayern Munich in Uefa Champions League fixture. It gave Mbappe time to shine, but French teenager failed to shine despite scoring on the night.

The world’s most expensive player Neymar was also playing the game but he failed to rescue his side. The Parisians suffered their first defeat despite the introduction of Edinson Cavani late in the game. The injury-time lasted nine minutes in the game, but Ligue 1 leader failed to convert chances into goals as they suffered their first defeat.

PSG will travel to Allianz Arena for Champions League fixture in midweek and it’s not good sign for them, especially when Bayern will be looking for revenge of their 3-0 defeat at Parc des Princes. Strasbourg victory will also help Marseille, Lyon and Monaco to capitalize on the situation to cut the gap at top which looks like a daunting task for them. Marseille will face Montpellier to cut their gap to seven points, whereas Lyon and Monaco will have to see off Angers and Caen respectively.
