Real Madrid were definitely not up to the mark during Julen Lopetegui’s short reign at the club. He was sacked after disastrous 5-1 defeat against Barcelona which followed after series of winless run and former Castilla coach Santiago Solari was appointed as interim coach. A dramatic turn of events takes place and Real Madrid certainly start winning and everything seems to fall in order. After winning four games in a trot, Real Madrid board awarded him with permanent job.
Real Madrid official website reports, “The board of directors of Real Madrid C.F., Which met today, 13 November 2018, has agreed to appoint Santiago Solari as first team coach until 30 June 2021.”
This news was expected to arrive on Monday after Real Madrid’s convincing 4-2 win over Celta Vigo on Sunday. However, it came little late.

Florentino Perez knows that Santiago Solari is the right fit despite the big names circulation in news. Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino, and Massimiliano Allegri’s name were circulating, but the board put their stamp on Solari.
Now, he has won the vote of board and support of Madridistas. One of Marca report says that Florentino Perez knew that Santiago Solari was the right man for the job.
One Madrid director says, “He has been very smart. He knew what the team needed and above all what the club were looking for.”
The 42-year-old Argentine manager knew that the problem in the team is internal. An inside man can only solve the problem, Los blancos were facing and he just did that. He gave Vinicius Junior his chance, stick to the new goalkeeper they hired in Thibaut Courtois, and also earned the trust of captain Sergio Ramos.
He has given chances to Dani Ceballos, Alvaro Odriozola, and Sergio Reguilon. Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale also looks motivated under him. The only one who looks isolated under him is Isco who played almost every match under Julen Lopetegui whenever he was fit.
Solari will try to handle Isco situation as well in near future and strengthen his team during January transfer window. He has got ample time and permanent job will surely giving positive energy in him to lead the team and win something.
