Real Madrid beat Sevilla 5-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu. It was a day meant for the Los Blancos to honour their star man Cristiano Ronaldo, and he need to come up with a performance to back his credentials. Ronaldo received his fifth Ballon d’or in Paris on Thursday, and he was supposed to reveal the trophy to Bernabeu crowd on Saturday. He didn’t only present the trophy to the beloved crowd; he deservedly backs the accolades with a performance which we didn’t see from him lately.

Nacho, Toni Kroos and Achraf also find themselves on the scoresheet along with Ronaldo. The Portuguese star scored a brace, whereas Nacho, Kroos and Achraf; each scored a goal. Nacho started the scoring for the Bernabeu giants within first three minutes and Ronaldo double the lead in early minutes as well.

Sevilla was supposed to give a tough fight to the 33 time La Liga champions, but it ended up with one sided affair. They were 5-0 down within first forty-five minutes as all Real goals come in first-half. The insurgent Real team were too hot for the Andalusians to handle and they end up chasing the hosts all day.

Nacho opened the scoring taking advantage of Muriel’s head back toward his own goal. Real defender scored Real Madrid’s this season fastest goal. Asensio did the work for Ronaldo in midway of the first-half and five time Ballon d’or winner was happy to make it his night. He scored in a textbook style to make it 2-0 for Real and minutes later Jesus Navas handed a ball in penalty area and resultant spot kick was converted by Ronaldo to make it 3-0.

The Portuguese great takes a great pride in scoring a brace in his first match after receiving the Ballon d’or for the fifth time, but Real demolition didn’t end here. Toni Kroos and Achraf also joins him on the scoresheet within first-half to make it 5-0. The Moroccan star Achraf scored his first goal for the club in helping his team to march over Sevilla.

Sevilla got nothing on the day in reply in second-half and they suffered a huge defeat against the Los Merengues. Real may have thought about the result which adds all three points against Sevilla side, but they may not have imagined about a 5-0 victory. It moved Real Madrid on third in points table with 31 points. Now, Valencia and Real Madrid have the same points and Valencia sits at second with better goal margins. Table toppers Barcelona will face Villarreal on Sunday night, whereas Valencia will see off Celta Vigo later tonight.
