Atletico Madrid’s star Antoine Griezmann’s future looks uncertain at the club as his frustration grows. The French man has struggled to find the net this season more often and lack of trophies in Red & White strips is forcing him to make a move away from the Rojiblancos.
Don Balon reports, “It is already decided. Barca will bid for Antoine Griezmann next season. The French striker has become the number one target of the Catalan team, and his €100 million buyout clause with Atletico seems to be a bargain price.
Barcelona’s coach Ernesto Valverde has requested for the player to lead his attack as Luis Suarez goals has dried up. They have sold their most promising player Neymar to PSG and they still need to fill the void left by the Brazilian star.
Griezmann is a right choice to strengthen the club. Barcelona hierarchy knows the importance of the player and they are preparing for Antoine Griezmann’s contract amid transfer rumors. Don Balon adds, “The Barca board is studying to make the player a first offer in which they would spend 20 million a year, above Iniesta, Pique, and Luis Suarez’s salary.
However, to pay the salary of the player, Barcelona need to sell few of the players who are not regular in the side. Andre Gomes, Arda Turan, Vermaelen, Paco Alcacer, Rafinha, and Mascherano may face an exit door at the end of the year.
