Ander Herrera could be Barcelona, Aletico Madrid or Athletic Bilbao target in January
Ander Herrera hasn’t been offered a new contract at Manchester United. His current contract with the club ends next summer and he’s out of favour in pecking order as well. There are reports that clubs back in Spain will soon be talking to his representatives for an offer the player. Barcelona, Aletico Madrid, and Athletic Bilbao is monitoring his situation and they may target him in January.
As per FIFA regulations, a club cannot approach another club player or his representatives directly if there is more than six months left in his contract with the current club. It means currently Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao or any other clubs cannot approach Ander Herrera before Janaury transfer window because Herrera contacts with Manchester United ends on 30 June, 2019.
Spirit was high in the United camp at open training yesterday. Jose Mourinho was joking with Andreas Pereira in his native Portuguese. Juan Mata and Ander Herrera were laughing as they warmed up. Paul Pogba had a huge smile on his face walking out onto the 3G pitch. #mufc

It could be a good deal for any club if they grab Ander Herrera free next summer. They can get a better bargain in January transfer window as well. He is still only 29, and his best has yet to come. He was Manchester United’s best player a season ago and now his part is limited to bench. Big Spanish Clubs must find a way to grab one of the most coveted Spanish stars.
Mundo Deportivo reports, “His ostracism in recent times invited us to think that his time at Old Trafford is about to end, which makes him a bargain in the market next summer. FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, and Athletic Club are the clubs who have shown interest in the player in the past and they may fancy their chances when a new opportunity arrives.”
Mourinho on Ander Herrera and Juan Mata: “Even if they are not playing a lot, not starting matches, by the personality and character point-of-view and what they represent in the modern society in football, they are almost unique pieces I don’t want to lose” #MUFC #GGMU pic.twitter.com/MgYXObW20O

It adds, “Herrera hasn’t ever dressed as a Barca player because on those two occasions when he appeared as a possible reinforcement, Catalans have other priorities which hinders Herrera’s path. Even Ernesto Valverde who had enjoyed a very great relationship with the played during his reign at Athletic Bilbao didn’t make a call for the player last season, but it’s a possibility that he’ll go for him next summer.”
They also believe that Herrera real love interest is in Real Zaragoza. However, club is not playing in Spanish Primera division. They will have to first earn a promotion to La Liga and then if La Liga authorities allow them to increase their salary limit, it could be a possibility. Otherwise, Barcelona must go for the player if they’re looking for an experience player in midfield who has Spanish roots.
