Hero I-League Defending champion Bengaluru FC hadn’t enjoyed the season they expected after a very good season last year. They become the first Indian club to play in AFC Cup final last year, but Hero I-League 2017 hasn’t seen the best of The Blues. However, Blues are twisting the tail with their late insurgence. Bengaluru FC backed themselves for fourth spot with 2-0 victory over Shillong Lazong FC at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong.

It’s their second consecutive victory against the North East’s sides. They defeated last week league leader Aizawl FC 1-0 to hang their title hope in balance with Kolkata’s sides Mohun Bagan and East Bengal.
Bengaluru captain Sunil Chhetri and Harmanjot Khabra scored the crucial goals to hand his side victory, and their better head to head result gives them an edge to sit at fourth despite sharing the same 24 points.
On the other hand, Aizwal goes back on top temporarily after winning their fixture against Churchil Brothers. Second placed Mohun Bagan will face Minerva later in the evening, whereas third placed East Bengal will host DSK Shivajians on Sunday. Mumbai City and Chennai City FC will be fighting against each other in bottom half fixture as well.
