Lionel Messi said adieu to Argentina national team which shocks the world. It’s unimaginable to think about football without Messi, when he is still around. The 29 year Argentina & Barcelona star made his shocking decision after Argentina second successive final defeat against Chile in Copa America final.

“It’s tough, it’s not the time for analysis,” he said. “In the dressing room I thought that this is the end for me with the national team, it’s not for me. That’s the way I feel right now, it’s a huge sadness once again and I missed the penalty that was so important.”

“I tried so hard to be [a] champion with Argentina. But it didn’t happen. I couldn’t do it. I think it’s best for everyone, for me and for many people who want it. The choice for me is over, it is a decision. I tried many times [to be a champion] but did not.” Messi said.

All of the million fans around the world is shocked; Facebook, twitter, Instagram or any other social media networks poured it all to support Messi in his low time. Messi took a decision in the heat of the moment, which is not the best time to take a crucial decision. He thinks it’s right decision, but with no disrespect he needs to reconsider his decision.

Messi quoted,” I think it’s best for everyone, for me and for many people who want it.” This line tells all the story, he didn’t think about himself, and how badly people out there wants him to continue. He got into the heat of the moment, and said adieu only because he cares about those scumbags who never admired him and those who will never know what it takes personally to feel the failure when you desperately wants success.

Argentina defeat against Chile is his fourth major final defeat which includes three Copa America finals (2007,2015,2016) and a World Cup final defeat in 2014. He would have taken that decision before but he continued. He takes that decision today because he missed the crucial penalty and he couldn’t take that burden off.

Messi couldn't feel the pressure

It’s not four final loss which bothers him, it’s his personal failure to deliver when his team needed him most bothering him. And how he is going to make it all looks good, by retiring from Argentina’s national side. He has a great career ahead and he can still play two world cups and a Copa America, he needed to accept that challenge and focus on his dream.

But, Messi got carried away by a penalty miss which may not have won the match for him because Lucas Biglia missed his penalty as well. Gonzalo Higuain is the main culprit of Lionel Messi victimization because he is the one who never delivered on bigger occasions. He missed the golden opportunity against Germany in World Cup 2014, he missed penalty in Copa America 2015 final and once again he puts wide a one to one shot which should have been put in.

Lionel Messi picture is hanging on every football fan walls, and they will have his last picture as they will describe his failure is such a pity. He needs to stand up once again and reconsider his thought because there is a great joy ahead and he will be missing those. There is always a dark cloud before the silver lining, and this is dark cloud which will fade soon, but if he doesn’t reconsider it will be the last memory of him for us as someone who couldn’t get over a single penalty miss which may have won Copa America, a continental championship which only boast of four nations who can qualify for World Cup.

All those individuals honours and club records will soon fade away, and greatest of all time will not have a single trophy in his cabinet to justify his greatness. Five time Ballon d’or, 3 European Golden shoes, Four champions league trophy, 8 Laliga titles, 2 World Club championship, 4 Copa Del Rey title and FIFA world Cup most valuable award won’t be good enough to complete his honour.

Messi adieu is most shocking and unimaginable moment in footballing history. No one can accept that, not this way, it’s not the end of the road. His journey is still a long mile to go, and he said adieu – reconsider the thought Messi. We promise we will respect that.
