It’s fascinating for Liverpool to reach last eight stage of the Uefa Champions League after 10 seasons. They have a rich history in the tournament and they are five-time European champions. They deserve to be playing in the tournament more regularly and Reds’ current manager Jurgen Klopp knows it very well. Now he has got the backing of German legend Lothar Matthaus. Matthaus said that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool can win Uefa Champions League in Kiev.

The 1990 World Cup winner is a great admirer of former Borussia Dortmund’s coach. He was recently at Anfield for the very first-time to represent Bayern Munich legends against Reds greats for LFC Foundation charity match. After the match, he had the chance to speak about Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool team. He said he has been watching Jurgen Klopp since he took charge at Anfield in Oct 2015.

Matthaus claims that the achievement of the side during the past two-and-a-half years is evident – and there is more to come as the manager makes further adjustments. Liverpool FC official website writes as Matthaus told, “He [Jurgen Klopp] didn’t change his style too much [from Borussia Dortmund]. He is working very hard. His team is always ready to fight for 90 minutes and they are in good condition. He works very hard. He finds the right players, especially in the offence, who can make the difference on the highest level.”

“Liverpool has the mentality and an atmosphere in the ground that is similar to Dortmund. He is a powerful coach. He can get people to talk to him – the players and the fans.”

Matthaus adds, “He has done a very good job. I believed from the beginning that he and Liverpool have a very good relationship. You can see that in good results, the good games and he has bought the right players. For me, it’s a team that can win the Champions League in two months in Kiev.”
