Guardiola’s Manchester City perfect start continues as they get past Swansea 2-1 in EFL Cup 3rd round

Pep Guardiola has brought something special with his perfectionist image into this Manchester City squad. City goes on nine game unbeaten records in this new season, scoring 27 goals which is an average of three goals per game. Club captain Vincent Company made his first start of this new season in winning ways as City beats Swansea 2-1 in EFL Cup third round at Liberty stadium. Gael Clichy and Aleix Garcia scored the 26th and 27th goal of the season for Manchester City in seeing off Swansea in EFL Cup. Gylfi Sigurdsson pull one back in injury-time for the hosts but it wasn’t good enough to see them further in the tournament.

It was first start for the company in four months, and he played full 90 minutes, but as soon as Sigurdsson scored for Swansea he pulled himself out of the pitch and goes straight into the tunnel towards locker room. The reason is unknown but it seems like City defender has still not recovered completely from his knee injury.

Swansea next fixture in Premier League on saturday is also against Manchester City, and for that fixture even Sergio Aguero will be back after serving his ban period of three games. An Aguero less City was good enough for Swansea, now it will be entertaining to see how they cope up against City when Aguero will be leading their formidable line-up.

Clichy scored the night opener in 49th minute to give City lead, whereas Guardiola’s men effectively sealed the victory when Spanish teenager Garcia slotted a fine first-time left-left finish into the bottom corner from a Navas cross in the 67th minute. Defending champion City will play next the bitter rival Manchester United in 4th round when EFL Cup tie will be back in October.

Swansea had no match to Manchester City on that particular night, let’s see what difference they can make when they will meet the league leader in premier league fixture on Saturday.
