AC Milan looks like a rejuvenated side under former Rossoneri man Gennaro Gattuso. He replaced Vincenzo Montella on 27th Nov 2017, and after few initial hiccups, he has led Milan well. Milan is unbeaten in 2018, but his rejuvenated Milan will have a real test against Juventus on Saturday night.

Top European club clashes to serve us after international breaks

AC Milan never dominated the Serie A as Juventus, but still, they are the second most successful club in Serie A with 18 titles. And when it comes to Europe, undoubtedly they are Italy’s most successful club with seven European titles to their name. They have no fear to face Juve and especially when they have overcome the challenges of Roma, Lazio, Sampdoria, and Inter Milan (in Coppa Italia) in the journey so far.

Rossoneri has struggled to live up to their expectation in the current decade, but they are the last team to win Serie A before Juventus purple patch started. Milan was 2010/11 season winner and since then Juve has won each of the last six Serie A titles. If Milan wants to prove they are on their way to some rejuvenation, they need a victory against Juventus.

Gattuso is known for bringing his aggression in the game. However, he won’t be able to show this on the pitch this time, he can definitely bring it on from the touchline. In his pre-match press conference, he already made his intentions clear to give Juventus hard time.

He said, “Juventus are a great team, unbeatable for the last six years. But, I’m confident that we’ll play a great game tomorrow and Juve will have a hard time against us. We have to be humble and respect our opponents who are stronger than us. We must play as a team. There is a lot at stake and we’re not allowed any false steps. We need the perfect game.”

Juventus currently sits at top of the Serie A table with 75 points. Napoli closely follows them with their 73 points. There is little margin of error for both the Scudetto challengers. Whereas Juve will have a tough opponent in Milan, Napoli will travel to Sassuolo in order to earn the summit.

Milan can ruin Juve’s 7th successive title defending snatching a victory on Saturday. It will also them to secure their place in top four and earn a Champions League place. Rossoneri currently sits at sixth on the points table with 50 points, five points behind fourth-place Inter Milan.

If Milan wins on Saturday, their next opponent will be their city rival Inter Milan. Those three points over Juventus will make Derby Della Madonnina more entertaining in order to have a place in top four. And moreover, Napoli must be wishing AC Milan to make life difficult for the Turin giants.
