Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen scored a hat-trick for Denmark to help his national team to qualify for FIFA World Cup Russia 2018. Denmark came from behind to defeat Republic of Ireland 5-1 aggregate in their play-off match to secure their place in World Cup finals and Eriksen was the star of the match. In his post match press conference, Denmark’s boss Age Hareide spoked highly of Eriksen and ranked him in top 10 players in the world.
Hareide stated as Sky Sports reports, “It’s difficult to rank, but we saw him [in Tottenham’s Champions League matches] against Real Madrid. He is probably one of the best players in his position at the moment.”
He adds, “Ronaldo, Messi, and some strikers are playing as forwards. Christian is more a wide man or a central midfield player. He has this capability of scoring goals, making assists, finding space, so, definitely top 10.”
Eriksen is a top talent and he has silently been working hard for Tottenham Hotspur. Harry Kane and Dele Alli does grab the limelight, but the intelligent football technicians are noticing his progress. Europe’s top clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus’ spies are monitoring his move and he is one of the prime target if he chooses to leave North Londoners.
Meanwhile, he will be preparing for North London derby against Arsenal on Saturday. Hotspur has consistently been trying to eclipse Gunners on Premier League table and they did last season. It’s now all on Spurs to maintain that supremacy over the North London’s most successful team in England.
