Too much job and little less of time for Jorge Sampaoli

FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 is only 80 days away. All of the 32 team participating in Russia has the latest showdown to tell the world about their preparation in their respective international friendly matches. Argentina got to convince the world international friendly against Italy and Spain. However, Jorge Sampaoli’s team registered a 2-0 victory over the Azzurri, they didn’t convince much.

Ever Banega and Manuel Lanzini did score to earn a victory for La Albiceleste but it has little to do with their preparation for Russia 2018. One of the favorites looks way behind the expected without their star man Lionel Messi. The world’s best player watched from the stand his team playing. I’m sure he won’t be convinced either with the victory.

Probably few of the newcomers in the team impressed. But little less of time left in preparation it will only give a headache in the selection dilemma. Chelsea substitute Goalkeeper Willy Caballero, Atletico Independiente right-back Fabricio Bustos, Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, and West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini’s performance get noticed. They are certainly going to give a headache to Jorge Sampaoli leaving an impression on him before he finally gives the name of his 23-man squad for Russia 2018.

Sampaoli said it wasn’t a great game but it was definitely a step forward. He confessed that he had a system in place with Lionel Messi on the pitch. And, Argentine no.10 absence allowed him to play Giovanni Lo Celso in the same position with the same system.

He adds as Clarin reports, “We saw things that we had foreseen in training, especially with some players that could generate closeness and compatibility. The last day we trained with Leo and in his absence, we had to establish Gio, who had trained with the other group, in Leo’s position. So as not to change the system, that was positive.”

Sampaoli continuing his focus on relationship in build-up highlights improvement. He said, “There were links in the field that we are going to continue to strengthen, but what we came to look for in the match were stimuli that generated certainty for us, there was stability in the team for a long time.”

Sampaoli – Argentina have taken a step forward for Russia 2018

“The players were very brave, because they were not overwhelmed by the exaggerated pressure of Italy, we had the courage and audacity to go and seek the triumph and to do what the interlocutors do in the field, with really complicated balls that if we got to lose it was a chance to score for them We always look for the first pass, the second pass, the space, in this stage of preparation that delights us This is the way that allows us to strengthen as a team.”

“We are going to support the idea that we are moving today, with different characteristics for the opponent of the turn, and we will try to strengthen some things that we did today, such as a greater dominance in the rival field, in this way we are.”

Samaoli told that he is going to continue with the same system against Spain. He said, “We know that Spain is an armed team. They have decided how they will play in the World Cup and we want to find it, which is what we came to look for in these friendlies. “

A new team playing in every game is not going to help much in terms of preparation for Russia 2018. The lethal pair of Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi didn’t play. The two of the highly ranked player Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala didn’t get the international call. Some established players in Mercado, Marcos Rojo, Gago, Pastore, Mascherano, Zabaleta, Lamela, Garay, Funes Mori, Enzo Perez are missing from the fray. We have to see if debutants will be prepared for final display in Russia on such a short notice.

Argentina will play Spain on Tuesday. We hope they convince us as a favorite in Russia against them. As for now, it doesn’t seem going to happen with La Roja’s superiority against the world champion in Dusseldorf on Friday witnessed. However, Lionel Messi’s presence on the pitch will certainly help the La Albiceleste.
