Both of them play for Real Madrid together helping each other, but here it’s all about individual superiority.

Gareth Bale made it quite clear,“Everyone says it’s me and Ronaldo, but it is Wales against Portugal. It is about two nations in a semi-final — 11 men against 11 men.”

Bale  added on Ronaldo,“Of course he’s a fantastic player, everybody knows what he can do. We know a lot of teams we’ve played against have got very good individuals but for us it’s about the team. The team is the star for us, there’s no stars in our team – we all work as one.”

When Portugal & Wales, two teams will meet in Parc Olympique Lyonnais for their semifinal game, all eye will be on Ronaldo and Bale. Ronaldo need to prove his supremacy which he didn’t show in Euro 2016 except the Hungary game. Gareth Bale will be the only man left in Wales shirt after Aaron Ramsey suspension. Portugal is getting stronger as the tournament progresses and Renato Sanchez full time appearance has given them an edge in midfield, but for Wales it will be first time they will be tested without Aaron Ramsey.

Aaron Ramsey has been heart of Wales team, with five appearance he contributed in Wales five goals. He has scored one and assisted four goals, but unfortunately of Uefa harsh disciplinary rules he won’t be able to play. Manager Chris Coleman has used Ramsey in two separate roles in the past couple of years, either as a deep midfielder in a 3-5-1-1 system or in a No. 10 role alongside Bale, which makes the system more 3-4-2-1.

Portugal as a team.

For Portugal Ronaldo will be their key man, no matter how Quaresma and Sanchez has transformed their fortune in knockout stages. Ronaldo has been quiet in all of the Euro 2016 matches except against Hungary, so this give an edge to Wales. Ben Davies will also be missing from Wales lineup and it will be a worry in defence to tackle Ronaldo.

First time Wales will be playing without their first choice playing eleven, and it will be a challenge to play a semifinal match. But, they have got their man in the middle Gareth Bale, who will take care of Ramsey absence along with Joe Allen, and Robson-Kanu will lead the attack. And, it may be “We don’t want to go back home” rhyme will work again in Parc Olympique Lyonnais, against Ronaldo’s Portugal.
