Argentina solidarity in Copa America challenge

Argentina maintains their solidarity in Copa America challenge with 3-0 easy win against Bolivia. Bolivia didn’t look anywhere in the game, the side which has given a tough night to Chile in winning against them. Argentina once again put Messi on bench, giving him much rest as he wants but he comes as a substitute in second half to fulfill crowd’s demand.

The match was already over in first half itself with three goals which came from Erik Lamela in 13th minute from his deflected free kick and then in 15′ Ezequiel Lavezzi made it 2-0. Victor Cuesta scored the third from near post from a Lavezzi cross which finalize the game scoreline 3-0.

Messi come as a substitute in second half on crowd’s demand, although Gerardo Martino didn’t need him on the pitch. Messi needed only one goal to equal Gabriel Batistuta’s goal tally of 54, but this was not his day. He played full second half and looked improved. He come close to scoring twice. A 25 yard free kick only to miss marginally top left corner but by his standards it was wide enough to scratch his head. Then second came when he nutmegged Bolivia goalkeeper to pull the trigger but judged offside.

Argentina with three wins out of three goes at top of group D. They will be playing minnows Venezuela in Quarterfinals on Sunday in Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts.  But don’t be surprised if you see any upset because Venezuela have already eliminated 15 time champions Uruguay. And, next will be in their mind only to defeat 14 time winners Argentina and it will be a successful campaign for them.

Argentina rested all of his key players in match against Bolivia. Angel Di Maria, who suffered a lump injury against Panama got rested with Javier Mascherano and Marcos Rojo. Messi didn’t start the game, so as Nicolas Gaitan. Argentina, who never look short of strikers these days started with Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain and Ezequiel Lavezzi at front, in the middle Ever Banega and Erik Lamela played in the starting eleven as well.

It’s good everyone has got in touch, and they have advanced in quarterfinals with an ease, but they will be tested in further stages. Will they be able to maintain their solidarity in Copa America all the way to final is a challenge but they will have to accept it.

Argentina will be winning a major tournament after 23 years and it will be first time Messi will win something for Argentina other than Olympics in 2008. it will be a great moment for Argentina but they still have a long way to go. We hope Messi continue his streak and win Copa America for Argentina this time to make it third time lucky, the South American giants are already out of tournament and it’s theirs to take it.
