If you would have asked any football fans around the world before Uefa Champions League 2017/18 semifinals draw, they would have predicted the same draw. Everyone expected the very same draw: Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid and Liverpool vs AS Roma. The only thing could have differed about playing home or away first.

Now, draw formally taken place we know that Bayern Munich and Liverpool will play first at home respectively against their opponent Real Madrid and AS Roma. The first-leg will be played on 24th and 25th April, whereas second-leg will be played on 1st and 2nd May.

Liverpool will play the first-leg first against AS Roma on 24th April at Anfield, before going to Rome to play second-leg on 2nd May at Stadio Olimpico. Bayern Munich will be playing the first-leg at Allianz Arena on 25th May before visiting Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu on 1st May.

If you consider the Uefa Champions League quarterfinals tie and their results, you can easily say there are no favourites. But still, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are favourite to clinch the title, although with semifinals draw only one of them can reach final in Kiev. Both sides have met 24 times in European Cup tie and these semifinals draw will be their 25th and 26th meeting. Whereas Jupp Heynckes will be looking to win his second treble with Bayern Munich before his retirement, Zinedine Zidane will have a flair to win three consecutive Uefa Champions League title.

Liverpool would like to put their hands on their beloved trophy for the sixth time. They are five-time European champions and they’ll have an upper hand against Roma who are new in the competition. Italians have never won the Uefa Champions League trophy and their last final defeat came against the Reds at their very own Stadio Olimpico. They’ll be very eager to take revenge and make the score even. Meanwhile, they can also become the fourth Italian team to lift Europe’s most prestigious trophy in Kiev.
