Uefa Champions League: Bayern Munich took revenge against PSG at Allianz Arena

Bayern Munich were humiliated at Parc des Princes on matchday 2 by Paris Saint-Germain. The Parisian registered an easy 3-0 win over the Bavarians, but they wait for their turn at Allianz Arena. The invincible looking PSG suffered an humiliating defeat against the five time Uefa Champions League winner. Bayern make the score even between the both side winning the game 3-1 on matchday 6.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for Bayern in 8th minute of the game and Corentin Tolisso earned a double for himself later in the game to end PSG victorious run. However, PSG still finishes the group winner with better goal margins but Bayern proves that they’re not inferior to the Parisian side.

Both sides are favorite to win the competition this season, and the match between them proved a high quality contest. The German champion wanted revenge of their loss at Parc des Princes started well off scoring in eighth minute of the game. Lewandowski scored to give Bayern an early lead when Dani Alves played him onside.

Tolisso double the lead from his header effort in 37th minute as he met James Rodriguez’s cross. A first-half 2-0 lead was looking good to dishearten the PSG star studded side, but they return into the game in second-half. Kylian Mbappe scored for the Parisian side five minutes into the second-half after a neat effort from in-form Edinson Cavani to provide the cross to chip off.

But, Tolisso again came to rescue the Bavarians finding the net in 69th minute. He clinically finishes from David Alaba cross coming from his storming run at left flank. PSG didn’t find any neat effort in later half of the game and they suffered their first defeat in Uefa Champions League 2017/18 season. They also suffered a 2-1 loss in Ligue 1 on weekend against the promoted side Strasbourg.

Bayern Munich and PSG both ended with 15 points in group B, but PSG leads as group winner with better goal margin. Celtic finds their way to Europa League from the group finishing third, despite losing 1-0 at home to Anderlecht.
