Paulo Dybala, the real Juventus’ star shined in absence of Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo red card against Valencia didn’t affect Juventus in his absence against Young Boys. It came as a blessing in disguise for Paulo Dybala, the real Juventus’ star of last three seasons. La Joya opened his UEFA Champions League account of this season with a hat-trick performance against swiss side Young Boys.

He becomes only the fourth Juventus player to score a hat-trick in UEFA Champions League game. The three previous hat-trick scorer were Pippo Inzaghi, Alex Del Piero, and Arturo Vidal.

Dybala performances have suffered this season since Ronaldo arrival. It seems he no longer feels himself as special in the squad. Of course, CR7 is a bigger name than him and his arrival reduces Dybala influence on the game but he would have never thought of sitting on Juventus’ bench. But, it happened.

La Joya needed to bounce back from his disappointing start of the season and he gets a perfect opportunity in Ronaldo’s suspension. He already announced his arrival against Bologna with his season first goal, but he immediately becomes the centre of attraction with a hat-trick performance.

He wins the heart of his fans and Bianconeros will put him in high regard once again. It took him only five minutes to open his account. Leonardo Bonucci launched a long-ball forward and Dybala delightfully cushioned a volley with the inside of his left boot to open Juventus’ account.

Dybala only needed to tap in for his second of the night after Von Ballmoos made an error in collecting the ball. The Argentine star could have scored four or five if some of his efforts would have ended up in goal.

He should have completed his hat-trick just after the game restarted after second-half when Bernardeschi sets him up. His angled drive did beat Von Ballmoos but catches the inside of the far post to bounce off.

Dybala was also brought down inside the penalty-box but there is no VAR in UEFA Champions League to turn referee initial decision. He wasn’t adjudged fouled and the game moves on. But, nobody stopped him to scoring his hat-trick of the night.

Alex Sandro crossed a brilliant ball to back post for Juan Cuadrado and Colombian unselfishly played it into the middle and Dybala come sliding to take the match ball home scoring his hat-trick.

Juventus won the game 3-0 and Young Boys finished with 10 men on the pitch. Mohamed Ali Camara was sent off for a tackle on Dybala who enjoyed a great outing today.

Biaconeri legend Alessandro Del piero who has already backed Paulo Dybala to become club legend, once again gave his voice in favour of the Argentine. He tweeted, “welcome to the club hat-trick. These are the evenings you’ll never forget.”
