One eye Liverpool’s super-sub Firmino snatched a victory from PSG
It would have been a disgrace if Paris Saint-Germain have had walked away with a point from Anfield. Visitors didn’t match the intensity of the Liverpool and were finding it difficult to make two passes before they lose possession to Liverpool players, but they did find two goals to make life difficult for the home teams. It takes the effort of Liverpool’s one eye super-sub Firmino to snatch a victory from PSG. If PSG would have played a draw, it was nothing less than a victory for them.
PSG were nowhere in the game except few individual brilliance of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Liverpool enjoyed the game as usual they dominate at Anfield. Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring for them with a brilliant header at half hour mark. Six minutes later, James Milner converted from the spot to make it 2-0 after Juan Bernat brought down Gigi Wijnaldum inside the penalty-box.

But, Liverpool’s euphoria didn’t last long as Thomas Meunier rise on the occasion to bring some fight back in PSG. Angle Di Maria served a brilliant cross from the left and Andy Robertson failed to give it a decisive touch and Meunier arriving in the area poked it neatly from nine yards.
PSG were far from convincing and they had no answer to Liverpool’s high pressing game, but they finally had a goal. First-half ended 2-1 in the favour of Liverpool and they started the second-half brilliantly as well. Reds were giving no chance to PSG as they dominated the game in second-half as well. They couldn’t make two passes together and it seems their players were hiding. Parisians were hardly making an effort to get the ball back.

Angle Di Maria, Edinson Cavani, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe were not more than spectators in the game for most of the time. Only when Thomas Tuchel decided to take Cavani and Di Maria off and put Julian Draxler and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, PSG got some fortune.
Mohamed Salah gave a ball easily away and Neymar & Mbappe combine well to serve their club in closing moments of the game. Mbappe rise on the occasion to score a brilliant goal to make it 2-2. A minute later, they almost won the game as Neymar played a long ball to Draxler but German failed to make the most of that brilliant vision of the Brazilian.
It forced Jurgen Klopp to make his substitution. Salah was substituted by Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho replaced Sturridge, and Mane was replaced by Firmino. In his pre-match interview when Klopp was asked. will he play Firmino after his eye injury against Tottenham Hotspur on weekend? He said no way he’ll be taking the risk and here he is, one eye super-sub snatched the victory for Liverpool from PSG.
Firmino scored a brilliant goal in injury-time from a difficult angle in crowded penalty-area. It was the magical moment from the one eye super-sub and he celebrated in the same way as well covering his one eye.
