Juventus were denied by cruel luck as fanatic comeback fainted

Italians roared in Uefa Champions League second-leg, I must admit. Last night it was Roma who conquered against mighty Barcelona, and today it looked like Juventus have brought a wave at Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid. A 3-0 lead until the very last second and the game was 3-3 aggregate, and the moment of cruelty takes place in the game. Real Madrid were awarded a penalty and the Uefa Champions League goal king Cristiano Ronaldo made no mistake to put it in the top right corner. Juventus were denied by cruel luck as fanatic comeback fainted in the end.

Juve bossed around at Santiago Bernabeu as Real bossed in the first-leg at Juventus Stadium. It was a true revenge and deservedly it seems Bianconeri are heading towards semifinals. Miralem Pjanic was orchestrating in fine tune from his holding midfield role and Sami Khedira and Matuidi were pushing themselves forward.

In absence of Paulo Dybala, Juve got strength in Mario Mandjukic on wings. The Croatian striker may not have been preferred option by Massimiliano Allegri, but he relished his chances today. Mandzukic served himself with two header goals to bring optimism in Juventus’ camp.

Real Madrid have had their chances but Bianconeri were solid at back. A goal was coming any moment as they were striking from everywhere but they kept their solidarity at back and frustrate Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t had his best until the penultimate moment arrives to deliver from the spot.

Juventus vs Real Madrid, Uefa Champions League

The first-half ended in Juve favour and they had a third in second-half as well. Matuidi made the most of a loose-ball nearside the post pouncing it into the net. Keylor Navas fumbled to catch the ball coming from the cross and Matuidi sense the opportunity to tap-in. it was 3-0 and Juve only needed a goal to win the tie but that moment never arrived.

Real, on the other hand, were waiting for Juve’s mistake and luck have been harsh on them arrived at the nick of the time. Only 30’’ seconds of game left to play and Real Madrid was awarded a penalty with a fault on Marco Asensio. It wasn’t as harsh as it looked but it was definitely a fault. Juventus’ goalkeeper Gigi Buffon saw it differently and didn’t like referee decision. It was normal for him to react but English referee did his job by sending him off.

Ronaldo’s moment of magic arrived. A tense moment, a win or lose situation, and the great arrived on the occasion. The new goalkeeper on the pitch had hardly warmed-up for the game. Ronaldo slotted in perfectly in the top right corner as Real made their way to the semifinals and Juventus were denied by cruel luck as fanatic comeback fainted.
