Arsenal failed to capitalize in a group winning battle at home
Arsenal and PSG, both leads the group A table with equal no. of points, but Arsenal failed to capitalize in their group winning battle at home. Gunners were leading 2-1 till 76th minute, thanks to PSG poor defending. A first-half stoppage time penalty from Olivier Giroud, cancelled out Edinson Cavani goal and Marco Verratti own goal in 6oth minute had put the Arsenal at front seat, but Lucas Moura ended their dream of going on top of group A, with his 77th minute deflected header.
Both sides have already qualified for top 16, but the battle between the both team was more about winning the group and avoid the other seven group winners in top 16 tie. But, after result PSG Chances are more bright to top the group as they will play Ludogorets on match day sixth, whereas Arsenal have a tough trip to FC Basel in Switzerland.
2009 – Arsenal v PSG is the first Champions League match to have more goals than shots on target since Rangers v Unirea in Oct 2009. Quirky.

Edinson Cavani once again started the game in brilliant fashion striking in 18th minute, as he started in September fixture on match day one, just after 42 seconds into play. But, Arsenal miserably failed to produce any shots on target in first-half at home as well, and they should only thank Giroud to convert the penalty from spot in first-half stoppage time.
Second-half didn’t have a fairy start as well, but Marco Verratti own goal in 60th minute, brought fortune for the gunners as they looked like sealing the victory. But, PSG were not ready to give up, Lucas Moura find a way in 77th minute, as his header goes past David Ospina which took a deflection of Alex Iwobi before going into the net.
PSG has failed to secure a victory against Arsenal in their numerous encounters, but they will be more than satisfied with the result as they have an upper hand playing the last match against Ludogorets, whereas Arsenal will make a trip to FC Basel. Arsenal may be unbeaten since their Premier League opening weekend defeat against Liverpool, but they are far from convincing to challenge in Europe. Once again they may be finishing 2nd, and forced to face Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, or Monaco in top 16 tie.
