Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund, is Germany’s own classic match, but Der Klassiker failed to live up to the expectation as it ended one side affair. Bavarians thrashed Dortmund 4-1 to take the revenge of their 1-0 lost at Westfalenstadion. Their attacking trio fired from all cylinder as Ribery, Robben, and Lewandowski goes on the scoresheet.
Franck Ribery goes on the scoresheet within four minutes of the game played giving Bayern 1-0 lead. Six months later Robert Lewandowski scored his 25th goal to equal Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who failed to impress in Der Klassiker. It was Raphael Guerreiro’s screamer, which shows some fight back for Dortmund, but second half was waiting for them to hurt more.

Arjen Robben was denied four time in first half, but in second half, he finally finds his goal within four minutes. Lewandowski goes on top of the Bundesliga scoring list with another goal from the spot when Oliver Buerki brought him down in 68th minute.
Dortmund were nowhere in the game, and Der Klassiker disappoints the fans on the same day Madrid derby fulfills the expectation as it finished 1-1 between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. The result left Dortmund on fourth on points table, whereas Bayern move forward to clinch their fifth consecutive Bundesliga title.
Bavarians leads the Bundesliga table by 10 points with only six game left. Second placed RB Leipzig continued to fight for their title hope with a late 1-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, but third placed Hoffenheim suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat against Hamburger after winning 1-0 against Bayern Munich.
Next task for the Bavarians will be clinching a victory against Real Madrid, if they want to win Uefa Champions League. It will be a cherry on top for the retiring players Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso. Their impressive performance in Der Klassiker is certainly going to help them when they’ll face the Champions League defending champion Real Madrid.
