Borussia Dortmund’s new joiners made their mark against Eintracht Frankfurt
You always have your doubts on your new acquisition in the transfer market and especially when you acquire them young. But, Borussia Dortmund have a history to take a gamble on young dynamic players because they know they have to tap in their potential before they become famous. This season many new faces join Die Borussen and they have already made their mark.
BVB new joiners made their mark against Eintracht Frankfurt to earn a 3-1 victory. Abdou Diallo and Marius Wolf, and Barcelona loanee Paco Alcacer all made their mark scoring goals for Dortmund, whereas Axel Witsel, Thomas Delaney, and Jadon Sancho made their mark with providing assist or creating the move for those goals.
It really is scary that Jadon Sancho is only 18-years-old.
One year in Dortmund has taken him to a level most English teenagers can only dream of…

Borussia Dortmund started with a very unusual line-up against Frankfurt playing 4-2-3-1. They handed 19-year-old Jacob Bruun Larsen a start alongside Marco Reus, and Marius Wolf playing behind Maximilian Philipp in attacking lineup. Mahmoud Dahoud and Thomas Delaney were in the midfield supported by two old guards Lukasz Piszczek and Marcel Schmelzer in fullback positions. Manuel Akanzi and Abdou Diallo were guarding central-defending position to help out Roman Burki.
The 22-year-old former Mainz centre-back made his mark in 36th minute to give Dortmund lead, but Sebastien Haller brought Frankfurt back in the game in 68th minute with another league goal of the season.

Dortmund needed to respond and they couldn’t have got a better man to do the job. Former Frankfurt man Marius Wolf responded brilliantly within four minutes of Haller’s equalizer to bring Dortmund back on the track. Jadon Sancho helped him out with a brilliant assist collecting Axel Witsel’s through ball who just arrived on the pitch substituting Thomas Delaney.
A minute later Eintracht Frankfurt were disallowed a goal when Luka Jovic was caught offside. It came as a relief to Dortmund. They offered some playing time to their new loan arrival Paco Alcacer. Barcelona loanee made an instant impact finding the net in the 88th minute on his debut for Dortmund.

It helped Borussia Dortmund register a comfortable 3-1 victory. Signal Iduna Park witnessed second consecutive victory of the new Bundesliga season, whereas Eintracht Frankfurt who started well against Freiburg winning 2-0, lose their second consecutive Bundesliga game. They also suffered a 2-1 loss against Werder Bremen in their last game.
On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund will at least enjoy their place on the top of the table for a day with this victory. They have two victories and a draw from their first three games.
The Black & Yellow have started the campaign very well thanks to their new stars. They beat RB Leipzig 4-1 on opening day, played a dull 0-0 draw against Hannover, but returned home with a bang against Eintracht Frankfurt. It seems Die Borussen are on right track this season beating already two of the promising sides.
