Bayern Munich’s fighting spirit was still alive against RB Leipzig, even though they secured their fifth consecutive Bundesliga title last month itself. It was a scintillating match between the Bundesliga first and second placed team and the nine goals scored in the match witnessed the intensity of the game, but in the end, Bundesliga’s winner emerged victorious over the runners-up. Bayern Munich won the game 5-4 against RB Leipzig to prove their fight isn’t over till the last match day.

Leipzig looks like the team to take home advantage as they were leading the game 4-2 until 84th minute, but Robert Lewandowski 84th minute finish and David Alaba & Arjen Robben’s injury-time goals earned Bavarians victory giving the match a late twist.

Marcel Sabitzer’s second minute finish gave Leipzig early lead, but Robert Lewandowski’s 17th minute penalty made the score level. Leipzig’s star man Timo Werner came into action to lead his team from penalty spot to give them 2-1 lead before going into the tunnel at half time.

Yussuf Poulsen made sure Leipzign starts the second half same as they started first as he scored in 47th minute of the game, but former Barcelona man Thiago Alcantara came to rescure Bayern in 60th minute with his finish.

The game was once again narrowed down to one goal difference, but five minutes later Werner once again came into action to make it 4-2 for the home side. It looks like Leipzig is going to give the Bundesliga champions a hard time, but Bavarians made a late comeback to see off the newly promoted Leipzig.

Lewandowski scored his 30th goal of the season to top the Bundesliga goal-scoring chart to narrow down the goal deficit in 84th minute, and David Alaba & Arjen Robben made sure they emerge victorious on the day and their championship celebration is not ruined by Leipzig.
