Bayern Munich suffered 2-1 defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach on matchday 13, and they needed to return to winning ways before facing PSG in Champions League fixture in midweek. Bavarinas came strong against the visitors Hannover at Allianz Arena to earn a 3-1 victory with the help of goals from Arturo Vidal, Kingsly Coman and Robert Lewandowski.
Arturo Vidal opened the scoring for Bayern in 17th minute with the assist coming from Thomas Muller. Muller return to the side after missing seven matches, but he showed his class setting up Vidal for the opener. Vidal opened the scoring with his far post header connecting to Muller’s cross.
Robert Lewandowski was denied a goal with VAR assistance and game took a sharp turn. Niclas Fullkrug scored a penalty for Hannover but referee blown the whistle for foul and it was retaken. Forward missed the chance to level the terms with his second effort from the spot, but Charlison Benschop brought some cheer for visitors with his angled header before the end of first-half.
James Rodriguez looking to impress his new manager finds some solace in his solo efforts. He shots wide couple of time in his identical fashion before finally managing to hit the crossbar. Frenchman Kingsly Coman gave Bavarians lead from a close range finish and Muller was once again the assister.
Lewandowski was destined to make history as he finally scored from the spot to hand Bayern Munich 3-1 victory. It was Polish striker’s seventh goal in a row in every home game and he become Bayern’s record holder to score in first seven home games.
It wasn’t a great week for Bayern Munich’s chasers. Borussia Dortmund played a 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen, whereas RB Leipzig suffered a 4-0 defeat against Hoffenheim. Schalke also played a 2-2 draw against FC Koln.
